| not sure if it is your problem ( fuel pump ) there is a filter in the fuel inlet behind the engine , it is very small dont bother cleaning ,just replece , it is not t hard to get out ,but if on the large size like me you may need someone smaller to lay over the engine , my pajaro , kept running out of power when under load towing a caravan found that this filter was blocked , but you would need to clean the fuel tank out , thats where th crap was comming from . not rure if this is your problem tho ... |

| Had the same problem GDI pump was serviced by a mech. It is fine now. |

| the back firing is caused by the gdi pump it is not sending enough fuel to the engine. Happened to me. changed my fuel pump and it works fine. |

| I also have a similar problem with the back firing,and the vehicle does not exceed 40km per hour, so am yet to change the fuel filter which is very blocked.and perhaps clean the GDI pump. |

| Error code P0173 - mixture incorrect in back 2 (next to the firewall). Many mechanics have tried and were not able to fix it. Now a mechanic tells me it is probably the high pressure injector pump and I should replace it. This error light only comes on when it is idling and after driving 150 km it goes away again. I think he might be right. Does anybody here know about it? Is there any way to test the injector pump pressure which is about 2000 psi. |

| My Mitsubishi GDI has given me terrible headaches. The engine can start on well but the idling and vibration will not be fine. The moment I try to accelarate, the engine back fires and stops. I took it to several mechanics who changed fuel pressure pumps but the problem did not change. The mechanics are suspecting the problem was now on the GDI pump which they said was not giving enough fuel to the injectors. Please is there any one who knows a mechanic who can service my GDI pump? Or any one who can supply me with either a good second hand GDI pump or a new one? |
