| The oil pick up inside the sump normally gets blocked with dirt causing less oil to move up. This will cause the oil light to come on. The car should not be driven further as it may cause serious engine problems. The solution is to remove the sump and get it cleaned together with the oil pick up. This is called a sump service. Its advisable to modify the oil pick up by removing the metal sheeting that covers the mesh so that the oil is now sucked up over a bigger surface area. All you need is new oil (should be 5W 40), new oil filter and Loctite gasket sealer. |
