2006 Toyota Alphard car engine stop running while driving problems

| Problems: | The car engine stopped running completely on the highway at the speed of 100 k/h. after warning sign lighted up sign by sign for about 10 minutes. It was not able to be restarted ever since. The 2 mechanics from different shop diagnosed that the car inverter broke down.I curious to know that: firstly, why there are a lot of warning signs and safty equipments installed in this state of the art technology vehicle but warned me at once, did not warn me earier. This incident that would have caused me life is normal incident for this type of vehicle! Secondly, what is a probable cause of the inverter broke down without any early warning, Thirdly, car engine stopped suddenly may not be caused by broken inverter but what caused it happened, and lastly, the can inverter be fixed? |

| Hello Mr Dusit, I have the same vehicle you have and I experienced the same problem, I took the vehicle to 3 mechanics and they all say I need to replace the gearbox did you manage to fix your vehicle if so how did you do so? |

| I had a similar problem, so before the inverter got bad i had a orange anti-slip or TRC icon that beeped every time id go over 60km/h and turn the vehicle and soon as i straighten the wheel it would stop beeping. then after that the vehicle stopped while i was driving, just died. so i changed the inverter and it started up again but that anti slip or TRC icon would still beep over 60km/h as i would turn the steering. then after a few days the inverter also got bad again, i changed it again but im still not sure what the problem is, anyone facing the same issue? |

| Hello Henry, I�m sorry to hear about your vehicle giving the same problems mine did, yes I did replace the gearbox and the vehicle is running well. I still have an issue thought on the hybrid side of things with the charging mechanism. Sometimes it charges as normal while driving then I hit a bump and the warning light comes on the dash ( RED vehicle with exclamation mark the center) when that happens the charging stops, very frustrating. When my mechanic removed the gearbox and opened it for sure the some of the gears were in pieces the mechanic said this happens when a bearing in the box ceases. How much are invertors and how easy are they to find and purchase? Could you possibly give me the contact details of the supplier? |
