Toyota showcases its Hybrid X concept at Geneva
Toyota Goes Beyond the Prius Toyota has showcased a radical new concept car at the Geneva Motor Show, which hints at the carmaker's future hybrid models. The Hybrid X is designed as a four door, four seat open-space concept. It has the dimensions of a conventional family car with an overall length of 4.5m and wheelbase of 2.8m. The width is 1.85m and height 1.44m According to Toyota the Hybrid X is a vision for future environmentally friendly motoring. It fits clearly within Toyota's environmental strategy of offering sustainable mobility for modern families. The concept also extends the use of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive. It was designed by Toyota's European styling centre in Europe and the concept takes its name from two U shapes created by the vehicle's upper glass frame area and unusual A- and C-pillars. The shapes make an X when viewed from above. A futuristic touch is that the driver can set the ambience within the car via an interface in order to control the four senses of sight, sound, touch and smell. Other unusual features include headlights that are integrated into the dashboard meaning that it is part of the car's interior.
