Renault Clio Grand Tour Concept
Renault Clio Grand Tour Concept The estate concept version of the Clio, revealed at Geneva, represents what Renault describes as "a glimpse of developments to come". It's an impressive beast, painted in Comet Gold with yellow interior lighting, and fitted with a 200bhp two-litre petrol engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. It has been stuffed with equipment developed by Samsung Electronics, including a 10 million-pixel digital camera, a digital camcorder and a laptop computer which can be folded into the spare wheel housing. Almost inevitably, the Grand Tour also has LED headlights and a panoramic glass sunfroof. But the real story concerns the amount of interior space. With the rear seats up, there's a most un-Cliolike 430 litres available for luggage, and when the seats are folded this expands to 1275 litres with a 1.7-metre long flat floor. There is no suggestion yet that there will be a production version, but such a car would certainly offer a challenge to Peugeot's SW models and to the MINI Clubman (see separate story ).
