Arrow Uber-Engineer Richard Parry-Jones To Retire From Ford

Ford has announced that Richard Parry-Jones is to retire at the end of 2007 as group vice president and chief technical officer after more than 30 years at the company. Alan Mulally, Ford Company president and chief executive officer, says "Richard's feel for the customer and technical expertise has helped improve all of our brands, and his drive and determination have been a great inspiration to our engineers as we have accelerated the development of our new products that people really want and value." Parry-Jones is well recognised for his accomplishments in vehicle development, and in particular his expertise in driving dynamics and refinement. In 1994 he was named 'Man of the Year' by Autocar magazine, and more recently in 2005 he was awarded a CBE in The Queens New Year honours list for his services to the automotive industry.
