Man Drives Dodge Durango Into Hayward Home

Police are investigating what caused a 27-year-old Hayward man to drive his Dodge Durango into a house early this morning, Hayward police Sgt. Pola said today.

According to Pola, officers arrived at the victim's house on the 1200 block of Palisade Street a little after 2 a.m. to find the silver Durango completely inside the two-story home. The SUV had driven through one room of the house and come to rest in the garage where it struck the family's car.

The residents of the house were sleeping upstairs so there were no injuries.

The driver of the Durango was found to have a blood alcohol limit above the legal limit, and was arrested for driving under the influence, Pola said.
