New Volkswagen Golf Estate

Volkswagen??™s new Golf Estate is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March, with the largest loadspace of any Golf to date as well as new styling.

Features include a new nose featuring a distinctive chrome grille section framed by a set of deep front air dams and a redesigned tailgate section to maximise bootspace. Finishing off the look are a set of roof rails and an aerodynamic spoiler mounted on the trailing edge of the rear window.

The expanded loadspace is accessed through a wide, contoured boot incorporating a low load lip. To aid practicality the rear seats fold flat into the floor to reveal a versatile 1550-litres of bootspace complete with multiple load hooks. A 12V socket plus stowage beneath the boot floor are additions along with heating elements built into the rear windows.

The new Golf Estate will be powered by a range of advanced engines: The refined and economical diesel variants come in a choice of 1.9-litre TDI 103bhp and 2.0-litre TDI 138bhp engines. Petrol engines comprise of 1.4-litre TSI 138bhp and 1.6-litre FSI 100bhp variants from the Golf hatchback. The TSI engine is mated to a choice of six-speed manual or quick-shifting DSG gearboxes.

As with the Golf hatchback the list of standard equipment on the new Golf Estate includes six airbags, alloy wheels, ???Climatic??™ semi-automatic air conditioning, ABS, a radio/CD player and a three-year/60,000-mile warranty.

Sales of the latest Golf Estate in the UK will commence in the summer with prices set to be announced nearer the time.
