Renault worldwide sales up 5.8 pc in October

(Adds details) PARIS, Nov 14 (Reuters) - French car maker Renault on Wednesday said its worldwide sales of cars and trucks rose 5.8 percent to 219,411 vehicles in October, after a 2.8 percent slip in September. Sales over the first 10 months of 2007 were down 0.1 percent, the company said. Group sales are made up of the Renault brand, Korea's Renault Samsung Motors and Romania's Dacia. Vehicle sales of alliance partner Nissan are not included. The new Laguna model, launched in October, helped boost Renault brand passenger car sales which were up 7.8 percent in October against a year ago. Renault said it had 20,000 orders for the Laguna. Dacia, which sells the no-frills Logan model, saw sales rise 19.1 percent in October and 12.8 percent in the first 10 months with a 79.4 percent October jump in Europe. Dacia has added the Logan MCV to the car line-up.
