Arrow VW extends line-up of Caddy transporter

Hanover, Germany - Volkswagen is extending its line-up of the Caddy transporter with the Caddy Maxi to be offered by early next year, the car maker has announced.

The new VW Caddy Maxi benefits from a 47 cm gain in overall length compared to the standard Caddy model. It measures 4.88 metres with a wheelbase of three metres and a load capacity of 4.2 cubic metres.

VW is offering the vehicle with the option of a second sliding door or a single rear door instead of the two doors opening to each side.

One petrol engine and two diesel versions are available. The petrol motor has an output of 75 kW/102 hp. The diesel comes with the choice of either a 77 kW/105 engine or the 103 KW/140 hp engine.

Prices have not yet been released by VW.

The Caddy Maxi Life made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show a few weeks ago, designed mainly for the transportation of groups of people. It comes with three rows of seat to transport up to seven people and their luggage. ?© 2007 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
