THE all-new 2008 Land Cruiser was launched yesterday at the Toyota Showroom, Sitra.

The all-terrain vehicle is available through Ebrahim K Kanoo, the Toyota and Lexus sole distributor in Bahrain.

The look and feel of the all-new 2008 Land Cruiser has been further improved while retaining a familiar stamp of quality, said officials.

Its design and engineering meets the needs of drivers looking for a natural on and off-road vehicle, while meeting the latest global standards in emissions and safety, they added.

The Land Cruiser also boasts a totally new engine line-up and better off-road manoeuvrability, said sales general manager Ismail Akbar.

"The all-new 2008 Land Cruiser will exceed the expectations of any existing Land Cruiser customer," he said.

"Despite the familiar lines and quality that our customers have come to expect, the new Land Cruiser has been wholly re-engineered to the highest specifications."

A new engine line-up includes a durable 4.0L V6 gasoline engine with 240 HP and a 4.7L V8 with 271 HP gasoline engine newly converted to Variable Valve timing with intelligence for more power and better fuel economy.

An updated 232 HP 4.5L V8 diesel engine offers improved output at high speeds, said brand manager Ayman Shehadeh.
