(WANE) Honda's job search for production workers at its new Greensburg plant ends at midnight Monday morning.

Honda has about 2,000 job openings, and has already received more than 23,000 applications. Honda officials said 5,000 people applied within the first 24 hours alone. Honda is hiring from a 20 county area around Greensburg.

The $550 million facility is set to open for production in fall 2008. It will make about 200,000 Honda Civics every year.
