Arrow 27-07-2007: Honda outperforms own targets for first half

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd???‚¬?„?s sales have outperformed its own targets for the first six months of the year, giving it a 6.4% share of the total industry volume which is higher than its targeted 5.5%.

It said the positive performance could be attributed mainly to the success of the all new CR-V, which was launched in March. Honda Malaysia said sales of the new CR-V had exceeded expectations and Honda had received a backlog of bookings of more than 4,000 units, which had already exceeded its early target for the CR-V. It said besides the CR-V, the eight generation Honda Civic with its recent value-added features remained a popular choice. It added that the Civic also contributed to the robust sales in the first half of 2007. Notable milestones in the first half included the shipment of its one millionth set of constant velocity joint (CVJ) in May from its Pegoh plant. Honda Malaysia started the second half of the year with the launch of the ???‚¬?“Experience Honda 3S Campaign???‚¬, which is ongoing until end of next month.
