Arrow Toyota reports May 2007 results

Toyota Motor Corporation has reported its production and domestic sales and export results of the company and its subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd. for May 2007.

Sales While there has been an 8.2% year-on-year fall in Toyota sales in Japan, Daihatsu has sold 47,000 minivehicles in May 2007 (a 10.3% increase from May 2006), and Hino has sold 16,000 standard trucks (a 23.4% decrease from May 2006).

Overall, the three entities have captured 42.7% market share, including minivehicles (a 0.9% increase from May 2006).

Toyota has reported the 18th consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Europe and Asia. Daihatsu has reported a first decrease in fifteen months, due to decreased exports to Asia and Europe. Hino has reported the 17th consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Asia and Oceania.

While Toyota has reported the 65th consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in almost all regions, and a record high for the month of May, Daihatsu has reported the 7th consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia.
