Revised Mitsubishi Outlander
The 2008 model year Mitsubishi Outlander will be revealed at this year's Frankfurt Show.
Since the second-generation Outlander has been on sale for only a few months so far, it's not surprising that the update isn't exactly radical. The main news - as previewed here in the past - is the addition of two new engines alongside the existing two-litre Volkswagen Group turbo diesel.
One of the new units is the 154bhp 2.4-litre PSA Peugeot Citroen turbo diesel, which is part of the deal which will also see the Outlander being sold as a Citroen C-Crosser and a Peugeot 4007. This engine is available only with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The other new power unit is built by Mitsubishi itself. It's a 168bhp 2.4-litre petrol engine, and it comes with either a five-speed manual or a CVT with six manual holds and optional paddle shift controls.
Other improvements due to be shown at Frankfurt include new 18" alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, automatic wipers and soft-touch paint finish on the dashboard, though it has not been confirmed exactly which of these will be available in which market.
