Arrow Nissan March global output down 9.8 pct yr-on-yr, 2nd straight ...

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Nissan Motor Co said global output in March fell 9.8 pct year-on-year to 308,729 vehicles, the second straight monthly fall, hit by weak demand at home and abroad

In the year to March 2007, global production fell 6.8 pct to 3.205 mln vehicles, the first fall in five years

The company gave the following data for March, with year-on-year percentage changes:

Domestic vehicle output - down 19.7 pct at 109,582 units Domestic car output - down 22.0 pct at 92,185 units Domestic vehicle sales - down 10.2 pct at 111,847 units Domestic car sales - down 15.7 pct at 76,001 units Exports - down 20.3 pct at 48,580 units Overseas output - down 3.2 pct at 199,147 units Global production - down 9.8 pct at 308,729 units It also gave the following data for the year to March 2007, with year-on-year percentage changes:

Domestic vehicle output - down 12.7 pct at 1.19 mln units Domestic car output - down 15.1 pct at 976,908 units Domestic vehicle sales - down 12.1 pct at 739,925 units Domestic car sales - down 18.0 pct at 505,398 units Exports - down 8.4 pct at 617,384 units Overseas output - down 2.9 pct at 2.014 mln units Global production - down 6.8 pct at 3.205 mln units (1 usd = 118.48 yen)
