Engine Problems 2005

Date:February 5, 2013, 11:58 am
Name, Location:Nairobi Kenya
Vehicle:Toyota Voxy
Year:2005
Modification:none
General comments:I bought my Voxy 2 years ago engine 1AZ. I have read several reviews and are no different from my experience.
Generally the vehicle is good on smooth roads . Upcountry, no go zone!spacious and those with retractable sun roof, are fun,
What things have gone wrong with the car:First the vehicle damaged the radiator the whole of the top part got ripped off, my wife was driving and did not notice till the engine over heated and stalled on the road.

Changed the radiator , all over sudden the vehicle started overheating, before long started slowing down and not picking on revs.

TI promptly do the service, but 4 weeks ago the problem became worse and on checking the oil I realize its so black and sticky. We removed the sump and cleaned the sump and serviced the car.

The following day I drove from Nairobi to Nakuru and back, but on my way back just about to get to Nairobi , the overheating hit again. after some time after replenishing the coolant we took off but just before we got home the upper radiator pipe busted.

Replaced and the following day took it to the garage. Report the engine needs to be replaced as the repairs will not be guaranteed. Have just bought another Engine fitted still in the garage and not yet behaving.

Suggestion:Voxy Engines, got some manufacturers problem.
