General comments: | Love this truck. Very sure footed, quick, dependable, never lets me down. The stock tires are junk. Switched to BFG All-Terrain T/As, much better. This truck has excellent confidence-inspiring power, but it's all above 3000 rpm; not much in the way of low-end torque. Also recommend the installation of a rear sway bar--this significantly reduced the Tundra's understeer, and improved handling markedly. I just wish the gas mileage was better. Typically getting 15.35 mpg (city-highway mix), but I don't baby it. But on a long highway trip usually at speeds of 80-85 mph I got almost 18. I was very pleased with that. I highly recommend this truck--no breakages, no strange vibes (except for brakes mentioned above) no problems to speak of. |
What things have gone wrong with the car: | Squeak in dash in cold weather. Easily fixed with pre-molded round 1/2" foam insulation jammed between dash and windshield. Front and rear brakes replaced under TSB, but the fronts again started to pulse between 45-50 mph. Probably they need turned again, but it's only noticeable when slowing down from over 50 mph. I don't worry about it. |
