| General comments: | Garanteed to attract a lot of attention where ever you it. a very aerodynamic design along with a futuristic layout of the body, doors and rear canopy, it was truely a road legal concept vehicle. Obviously can be listed among the top 10 best designed cars ever produced by toyota. Let me ask you a simple question for those reading this.. what car did you drive in year 1990?? compare and visualize the design and looks of a sera with that vehicle. Should i say more? |
| What things have gone wrong with the car: | The objective of AXV-II project was to produce a vehicle that looked as if it came from some time in the future. Emphasis was given solely on the design and aerodynamics, never on power and performance. So one cannot expect a sera to perform like a turbo charged 3SGE MR-2 SW20. Tho both cars where launched on the same day in japan, one for performance (MR2) and the other to show the world what toyota was capable of designing at that time. So peformance aside, there is nothing not like about a toyota SERA which actually lives up to its name till today. Basically it was not meant to be a performance car but rather a design marvel. |
