Date:October 23, 2009, 2:53 am
Name, Location:Andy Flores, Whitehall, MI.
Vehicle:Toyota 4Runner
Year:1998
Modification:SR5 Automatic
General comments:Bought my Toyota 5 years ago with 65K miles like new, 1 owner. I currently have 178K miles and the above problems didn't show until the past 2 years or so. Fuel mileage 16 - 17 mpg. Goes through the snow. Great ground clearance. Be careful around wet or icy turns she'll break loose on ya. Cargo space is great. Towing light trailers fine. Besides normal wear and tare. Love this SUV. Towed 2 sleds to the UP of MI. no problems. Went to Niagra Falls no problem. Would recommend a 4Runner to all my family and friends. My next vehicle will be a 4Runner no doubt. Still get alot of looks when out and about. My wife drives this vehicle now. I am driving a work vehicle and a 94 f150.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Starter contacts were worn. Hard to start at times. Replacement $30 doit yourself if mechanically inclined. #2 fuel injector went bad. $ costly at the garage. Cup holder like everybody says not the best. Rear pinnion seal has a leak. $200 Power door lock issues. Back bumper rusted, cost around $200. easy to to replace. 178K a little tired but still goes when you need it to go.
Previous car:04 pathfinder, blind spot, very loose in snow, belt noise.GMC truck, caravan junk, sebring junk, grand am junk, ford probe ok,blazer too many problems.
