|General comments:||This model was made for the Japanese market, and is very populer in the UK, where it is imported as 'grey' import. |
The commonly available 4 speed automatic 2.5 diesel engine is quiet and has plenty of power. Petrol engines are unusual but a V6 is preferrable to the underpowered 2.0. The manual gearbox model is hard to find. Both the rear 2 wheel drive and fulltime 4 wheel drive have power steering with adjustable steering wheel height and driving position. 2.5 diesel: Displacement: 2499cc diesel
Engine model: Mazda WL-T B series
Max power (Net) kw(PS)/rpm: 125ps (91.94kw) / 4000 rpm.
Max torque (Net), N*m (kg*m)/rpm:
30.0 kg*m (294.20 N*m) / 2000 rpm.
Two models are produced; the Auto Free Top with raising roof, giving standing height inside. An 8 seater that converts to sleep 4. The flat top has a fixed roof, seats 8 and sleeps 2. Exterior dimensions (LxWxH) 4585 x 1690 x 2090mm. Interior dimensions (LxWxH) 2830 x 1570 x 1295mm
Built to the usual high Japanese specification with luxury interior as standard. Most vehicles come with air conditioning, heating, power steering, central locking, opening windows, electric mirrors, side impact bars, tilt steering wheel and blinds.
|What things have gone wrong with the car:||The engine has an aluminium head on a cast iron block. The radiator has narrow fins. I always check the cooling system, as the engine can overheat if this is not well maintained. I flush the cooling system and check that the radiator is not blocked. Any perished hoses should be replaced. A fan can seize through ingress of water, which occurs when the bonnet drain hole is blocked, so keep this clear.|
