1993 Toyota Town Ace carby and or ignition problems

| General comments: | For some unknownreason it wont acelerate over 60kms also put it into geat wnen starting it will stall, it wont allways change gears properly, when driving, I also cleaned the terminals in the distributer cap.So far I havnt taken the plugs out or changed them, would ordinary plugs be ok or do you have to use the Platinum ones. Then when I turned the ignition key off the motor kept running, until I pressed the accelerator, and it stopped. Two things I havnt touched are the cable for the Auto, or the mixture jet inside the pipe on the bottom of the carby. I have tried adjusting the the two screws on the drivers side of the carby. I am just about at wits end. | |
| Problems: | The townace hadnt been started for over 12months and the petrol in the carby evaporated and left a varninsh, I think I have cleaned most of it out then the fuelpump had a leak and filled the sump with petrol, So I changed the oil and pump and filter, | |

| Hey happened with your townace? I had to take apart and clean carby for same reason - it fixed the problem. maybe we can be of help to each other - what happened with your townace to get it running? The symptom of it not wanting to die when key turned off sounds like intake manifold gasket. thanks. (i have 93 carby townace) |
