1991 Toyota Soarer low sound level problems

Report a Problem

Date:January 8, 2010, 5:03 pm
Name, Location:Bob Lawrie
Location+:United Kingdom, Slough
Vehicle:Toyota Soarer
Year:1991
General comments:I've only had the car for 2 months and it has needed quite a bit of mechanical sorting (wasn't used much in last 3 yrs) but it is low mileage (40K miles) and drives beautifully.
Problems:1991 V8 GT Ltd. With EMV. The stock audio system has 12 CD changer in the boot with am/fm radio cassette in EMV unit. All EMV touch controls work. Reception and sound from radio is fine nice healthy volume. All speakers work. But, the sound from the CD player and cassette player is extremely low and sometimes is so low that it is difficult to hear even with volume control at max. This lack of volume gets worse as the exterior temperature drops. As the temp warms after half an hour of driving, the level of CD sound increases a bit. Can you give me any ideas of the cause of this problem? Thanks, Bob
