2005 Toyota Passo eps problems

| Problems: | my car has made year 2005 ,some times when i start the car the eps comes on, how can that be corrected? |

| if your eps light is on and the steering becomes harder, you need to check thru the scanner, if you get a code 1555 - motor relay welding failure, pls tell the mechanic to remove the eps motor and clean it with fluid/petrol, this worked in my passo , i had the same problem , i took to toyota dealer, they could not give me an answer, but this is simple process and it will not cost you even usd 25 to fix it. i got it done for usd 25. pls clean the eps motor, thats the secret . rgds ameer |

| Get a diagnostic scan done for $2500 and receive a Manufacturer Specific Fault Printout from Advanced Automobile Diagnostics(AAD) at 9 Central Ave,Kgn 10 or call 298-4377 and AAD will come to you. |

| Usually it's something to do with the EPS motor that it need to be cleaned because there is poor contact hence it is providing some kind of insulation, remove it and thoroughly clean with petrol thereafter refit it and erase the fault with a scanner. |

| i have the same issue and i did clean the eps motor but it didn't work.. the eps light came up soon after i crushed my Toyota passo 2005 1.3cc, help me to solve this issue please. |

| When you have this problem try restarting your engine while turning your steering wheel. I had same issue and this has helped me in fact I am no longer bothered as I was before. Just ensure you the steering is in motion at the engine starts. |

| I have a passo 2005 model and based in Malawi. The eps used to be on and the steering gets hard but when I moved the steering while starting on the engine, the eps light used to go off. It has been like that for almost 2 years. Nowadays what is happening is that after the eps light is off and the steering is soft and the car is in motion the eps lights turns on and the car immediatelly swithes off on its own. Thereafter when the engine is switched on and engaged in Drive, it doesnt move till after sometime. This can cause accident. I need you help. How can I solve this issue? |

| hi to everyone that having trouble with mechanical issues from my experience as a professional mechanic i would advice to see the professional or myself as that kind of problem really needs to be look at. its for your safety and others and you need to find a much clearer picture of how it happen and what to do to prevent that from happening in the near future cheers |

| I have a 2004 toyota passo.. the problem is that the check engine and overdrive lights keeps flushing constantly on the dashboard. And when that happens, the car stops accelerating and the performance goes down. What could be the problem cause the mechanics has checked everywhere but still cant figure out why its behaving like that. Plizzzz help |

| Thanks Ismael Kiptoo for your input on the EPS issue here. It just happened to me this morning and I quickly checked online and logged on this platform, there were suggestions from so called Mechanics, however the that has solved my problem is that of you Ismael. It is right on the point, "keep the steering in motion as you start your car" Problem solved, super easy |
