Hi David. I'm from JHB.
Do you have to fill up with water regularly? Is the car losing water?

My 99 Corsa Utility 1.6iS had a similar problem and nobody could find the fault.
Eventually they replaced a "split unit pipe?" somewhere where the pipes from the radiator and the aircon split (split unit in aircon models). Nobody could trace the fault as the car leaked water directly onto the manifold and immediately evaporated, so by the time the mechanics could look at it all traces of leaks were gone!
It cost me about R3500 for different mechanics to try and find the problem, where the actual replacing of the part / labour was just over R1000!!!

Hope this helps :-)
