1994 Nissan Terrano at stays at 2nd gear problems

| Problems: | First having problems with the alternator, then smoke came out of the cockpit. Everything went dead cause one of the cable that was connected with the (+) pole just burned. When that was fixed and if I switch on the heater light doesn't turn on and driving the gear stayed at 2nd gear. Some people say it's the gear box some say say it's the sensor. Please help me solve this problem, cause I love this car. |

| cockpit-dashboard.. remove the dashboard and check all wirings. replace burned wires mechanic will see. check the relay/wirings going to transmission control unit. |
