1998 Nissan Sunny water not going back into readiator from reservoir problems

| Problems: | Water is not going back into the readiator from reservoir. Have changed the readiator with new original and have installed new readiator cap. My car is sunny diesel D2.0 liter engine pakistan make Car has completed 153000 KM and no problem with engine. Kindly help me. Regards Abdul Malik malik@faith-associates.com | |

| your engine have coolant leak that is why it is not creating vacuum as engine cools down. the vacuum created within the cooling system as engine cools down is what pushes the coolant from reservoir back to engine and radiator. possible coolant leak may be around bypass tube, water pump,heater core hose, water jacket and or the worst, it maybe from blown cylinder head gasket. if the problem is from cylinder head gasket, it will require cylinder head removal for gasket replacement. to check if cylinder head is blown try this. allow engine to cool down. preferably in the morning. open the radiator cap. fill radiator with water if needed or below level. try to start engine while cap is remove. see if coolant/water will blow off from radiator. if, you have blown head gasket. if coolant remain steady, just check and correct the leaks around engine.. i also suspect you have defective water pump better take it to mechanic for visual/actual check up. i can only give you few tips to check |

| Hi and Salam Abdul, I believe before doing any of the above try replacing the radiator cap. If the cap has become weak it will allow the coolant to go into the expansion tank but will not seal enough for the coolant to be sucked back. Regards John |
