2013 Toyota Mark X car won't start problems in Jamaica

| Problems: | Parked car and went away for a short while, returning to find that I am not able to start the car, (car uses a key). I noticed that the car will not identify what gear the car is in, I believe that this is the reason why the car isn't able to start. Please help in aiding me how I can have this issue sorted out. At first i thought it was the key loosing association/programming with the car but it doesn't seem to be the issue, also all lights come in the dash but car won't start, no efforts to start are made =, no sound from the starter ........ nothing.
