1996 Toyota Camry car idles high and uses up a lot of gas problems in Guyana

| Problems: | My toyota tercel (vz) Idles at about 1200 - 1400rpm's and it burns up the fuel quickly.I replaced the ordinary filter with the knn filter ( the conical one) but it was idling high when i bought it. please help if you can. |
