Faurecia Portuguese plant wins VW contract to make seats for Polo ...
 

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Faurecia said it has won a contract from Volkswagen AG to make seat structures for the new versions of the VW Polo and SEAT Ibiza models at Faurecia's plant in Sao Joao da Madeira, Portugal.

Faurecia did not say how much the contract is worth but said it will invest 8 mln eur in the programme, and that output is expected to be 1,800 seat sets per day at the full production rate.

Pre-series production will start for SEAT from Sept 2007 followed by a full launch in March 2008. Series production for VW will start in 2009.
