Arrow US & Canada: Volkswagen recalls more than 60000 Jetta sedans

According to reports, Volkswagen AG has issued a recall for nearly 64,000 Jettas across North America, including 3,000 in Canada.

The 2006 Jettas with 2.5-litre gasoline engines in Canada and the U.S. will be recalled in August because they may have fuel leaks that could potentially cause fires. The recall notice on Transport Canada's website says that a fuel supply line clamp located in the engine compartment could be positioned improperly, resulting in a fuel leak.

A report by CBC states that the risk is because a tab on the windshield-wiper fluid container can rub against a fuel line, causing the dangerous leaks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website states that dealers will remove the tab and replace the fuel line if necessary.
