Cross Polo reflects VW's commitment

VOLKSWAGEN Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd (VGM) has reaffirmed its goal to provide an extensive line-up of Volkswagen cars in Malaysia.

The introduction of Volkswagen Cross Polo reflected the commitment, VGM pulic relations and marketing communications director Karen Cheng-Yoong said.

The commitment will be strengthened with the debut of the Phaeton in the near future, Cheng-Yoong said at the preview of the Cross Polo in Bangsar, yesterday.

"Our intention of introducing the Cross Polo is to fulfil our objective to provide a comprehensive portfolio of Volkswagen cars from the Cross Polo right up to the Touareg, and in the near future, the Phaeton," she said.

The Cross Polo - a variant of the popular Volkswagen Polo - has its roots in the Polo Fun, which was launched in 2003.

Developed by VW Individual, the Cross Polo has been available in the European markets since last year and today out of 10 Polo cars sold in Germany is a Cross model.

The 1.6-litre Cross Polo sells at about RM125,778 (without insurance), about RM9,000 higher than the Polo 1.6-litre.
