German bank orders Toyota Prius hybrids for its car fleet
German bank orders Toyota Prius hybrids for its car fleet Cologne, Germany - Germany's HypoVereinsbank has ordered 21 Toyota Prius hybrid cars for its fleet, Toyota-Germany head Keiji Sudo said from company headquarters in Cologne Thursday. "We are happy that an important German company like HypoVereinsbank is using our hybrid technology in its fleet and thus committing itself to environmentally sound transport," Sudo said. HypoVereinsbank director Willibald Cernko called the purchase "a visible sign of carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction." The new Prius hybrids will make up only tiny part of the bank's fleet of more than 3,200 vehicles. Source: Earthtimes.org |
