Arrow Toyota will stick with NiMH batteries for next Prius

Toyota has decided to postpone the adoption of lithium-ion battery technology in the initial versions of its next, third-generation Prius hybrid car, scheduled for launch in autumn 2008, due to continuing safety concerns, according to this week??™s Automotive News Europe and The Wall Street Journal, which quoted unnamed company sources.

Lithium-ion batteries, the object of much current R Ethanol Coalition (GEC). A total of 20 Ford E85 Escape Hybrids will be delivered to select fleet customers in six states, the world's first hybrid vehicles capable of operating on blends of fuel containing as much as 85 percent ethanol.
