2007 New York Show, Day 2: Stability Control and Subaru
 

NHTSA calls ESC the biggest safety breakthrough since seatbelts, the type of statement that drew mainstream media to the New York show: ABC-TV interviewed me for a segment of its evening news show on the issue. Being a medium of short sound bites, I didn't get the chance to tell ABC how enthusiasts like ESC only if it comes with an off-button. TV and motortrend.com websites, and a walkaround of the show with investment experts comprised my Day Two of this show. These are the first words I've written on it all day.

As a result, I missed the Subaru Impreza WRX press conference this morning. But I had already gone over the car for Motor Trend's May cover story. Subaru enthusiasts who posted photos of the car on the web were pretty disappointed with its styling. It's not a pretty car; but the WRX never was. I'm guessing the WRX sedan will far outsell the WRX hatchback in the States. I don't know what enthusiasts are going to do about the hatchback-only STi.
