SKorea's Renault Samsung Motor April car sales 13838, up 0.4 pct ...

SEOUL (XFN-ASIA) - Renault Samsung Motors Co said it sold a total of 13,838 cars in April, up 0.4 pct year-on-year, with the rise mainly due to solid demand for its SM5 model and robust exports of its SM3 model.

But sales in April were down 11.3 pct from March as the company faced strong competition from Hyundai Motor's new Grandeur model in the large car segment.

Domestic sales came in at 9,404 vehicles, down 4.2 pct year-on-year, while exports rose 11.7 pct to 4,434 vehicles.
