Nissan recalls 113000 Serena minivans:
Nissan Motor Co. said yesterday it was recalling about 113,000 minivans over a faulty exhaust pipe problem. The company was recalling Serena minivans produced between April 2005 and August 2006, according to a company report. Welded parts of the model's exhaust pipe could corrode and the pipe could fall off in worst cases, Nissan said in its report. There were 46 reported cases of troubles but no injuries, it said.
Lufthansa flights disrupted as cabin staff strikes: Lufthansa flights from Berlin were cancelled or delayed on Thursday morning as 40 of the German flag carrier's cabin staff staged warning strikes. Seven flights from the German capital were cancelled and others suffered delays of up to three hours as staff walked out in protest at Lufthansa's refusal to pay a 3.4-percent wage increase.
