Arrow After X-Trail, Nissan rolls out sedan Teana

Nissan launches Teana

NEW DELHI: Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) ???‚¬??? the 100% subsidiary of Japanese car maker Nissan Motor ???‚¬??? on Thursday rolled out its second car 'Teana' in India. Teana is positioned as a high-end luxury sedan and is the second car to be launched by Nissan Motor, following its X-Trail SUV in 2004.

She said, the company would also focus on compact and small car segments and seeks to become a strong player in India. The company plans to roll out compact cars from its Chennai plant, which was set up in March in a JV with Renault and M&M. "The Chennai unit will be operational by 2009. Our first mission is to enhance Nissan brand in India through our premier offerings," she said.

The company is targeting combined sales of 600 units every year from its two models, with about 350 units of Teana and 250 from X-Trail.
