Arrow UAE: Mitsubishi Fuso opens components distribution centre in Dubai

Mitsubishi Fuso opens parts distribution center in Dubai

(MENAFN Press) Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced the official opening of the new Mitsubishi Fuso Parts Distribution Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The objective of the facility is to provide leading parts support to distributors and customers in the Middle East and Africa. It is also intended to help MFTBC increase its parts business in these regions, where the company has achieved significant vehicle sales increases in recent years. MFTBC staged an event on April 17 to inaugurate the Center, with invited guests including regional distributors, parts & service personnel, and press.

Speaking at the event, Bert van Dijk, MFTBC Board Member and responsible for international sales & service, said, "Mitsubishi Fuso is very pleased to announce the opening of the new Mitsubishi Fuso Parts Distribution Center in Dubai. Our goal is to further enhance our overall after sales capabilities in the Middle East and Africa, with fast parts response times, quality service and comprehensive technical support. This new Center will help us accomplish this and will be a platform to help further grow our parts business in these regions."

The Center is located in a facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, in Dubai. It incorporates 5000m2 of floor space including a 80m2 office, and employs about 25 people. It stocks over 27,000 SKUs (stock keeping units) including items like filters, brake components, clutches, and air conditioning components. From the convenient Dubai location, parts can be shipped quickly to most parts of the Middle East and Africa.

The Center is operated by Agility, a leading global logistics provider that provides completely integrated supply chain solutions. Agility has a network of 20,000 employees across 450 offices in over 100 countries worldwide.

"We are pleased to work with Agility on the Mitsubishi Fuso Parts Distribution Center in Dubai," Mr. van Dijk said. "Agility has vast experience in warehousing and transportation, and most importantly, shares our commitment to quality and innovative solutions for our customers."

Supporting Rising Sales in Middle East and Africa

The new Mitsubishi Fuso Middle East Parts Distribution Center will help support MFTBC's growing Middle East and Africa business. Mitsubishi Fuso has achieved significant sales increases in these regions. In 2006, its Middle East sales (including Turkey) grew 29% to 30,226 units. Africa sales grew 68% to 12,393 units over the same period. (Sales figures are MFTBC wholesales). Mitsubishi Fuso is one of the leading Japanese commercial vehicle brands in both regions, offering a wide range of light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses.

"In order to continue to grow in all aspects, we want to offer not only high quality commercial vehicles but also comprehensive services," Mr. van Dijk said. "Following the opening of a Middle East Service Office in Dubai in 2005, the new Mitsubishi Fuso Dubai Parts Distribution Center will further enhance our ability to serve our customers with efficient and prompt parts support. Overall, excellent after sales support will be the backbone of our business success."
