Tag Makes Mercedes SLR Wristwatch
 

Everyone knows and respects Tag Heuer as a watchmaker, but they do so much more than just keep the time. Earlier this month, the Swiss company revealed a watch phone , and now they've taking their wares to the racetrack. Tag Heuer has teamed up with Mercedes Benz to create the SLR Chronograph, a world class timepiece that also has an automatic chronograph.
This is the third product resulting from the partnership between the German automaker and the Swiss watchmaker. The Tag Heuer SLR features Calibre 17 movement, a patented mechanism that places the buttons next to the bezel, and a dual bezel design that houses both the mileposts (for calculating "the exact speed all the way up to 400 km/h) and the timer to count down. The latter is "handy for qualifying sessions and rally-style timed stages.
The styling is said to be "inspired" by the Mercedes vehicle of the same name. In fact, you can get the strap in either a standard steel-link, or -- for the more adventurous, a rubber strap "modeled after the SLR's distinctive side vents." They're limiting supply to just 3500 pieces with sales commencing in June.
