![]() ![]() New C Class from Mercedes Benz Mercedes-Benz introduced the 190 Model 25 years ago and laid the foundations for what has become the best selling model series in the history of the Mercedes-Benz brand. To date around six million C-Class models have been delivered to customers worldwide. On the 1st of June 2007 the fourth generation C-Class will appear in dealer showrooms throughout Ireland to continue the success story. Prior to the launch some 65,000 orders have already been received by Mercedes-Benz for this new model. The new C-Class will be available in three model variants, Avantgarde, Elegance and Classic lines. All variants will share the latest state-of-the-art technology which includes a host of standard safety features such as: Pre-Safe (Anticipatory Occupant Protection System) Agility Control Package (Selective damping system/direct steering) Adaptive Brake (Newly developed braking system for even more safety) Neck-Pro Head Restraints (Crash responsive head restraints) 7 Airbags (including drivers kneebag) ESP (Electronic stability programme) Headlamp Assist (Automatic light function) The fourth generation C-Class introduces the ???New Diversity??? concept, which allows Mercedes-Benz customers to tailor the new C-Class to their personal tastes and lifestyle. The Avantgarde model will have a more youthful and agile image with a large Mercedes-Benz star incorporated in the front grill a design usually associated with Sporty Mercedes-Benz models. In the Elegance model Mercedes-Benz employs a three dimensional louvered grill with high gloss finish to accentuate other brand typical attributes such as comfort and luxury. For the first time in a Mercedes-Benz saloon, the radiator grill is used as a distinguishing feature to position the model variants more clearly. Two made-to-measure outfits both offer the same extraordinary driving experience through further technical developments, the C-Class sets new standards in this market segment. Eight models will make up the new C-Class range available in Ireland, five petrol models and three diesel models. In addition to the extensive standard specification the C-Class offers individualisation based on a choice of available options. Output of the supercharged four-cylinder engines has increased by 13% while torque figures have increased by 18%. The C180 Kompressor consumes 0.3 litres per 100Kmh less than before, while the 200 Kompressor has been reduced by 0.5 litres per 100Kmh. The C-Class range has come from the ???Baby Benz??? to bestseller in 25 years. The introduction of the fourth generation C-Class (W204 Series) provides Mercedes-Benz with a great opportunity to increase its business over the next couple of years and offer our customers a wider choice from this exciting new model.
