Honda Motor sales in China up 33.3%

LONDON, June 14 (newratings.com) ??“ Honda Motor Co (ticker: HDM) Thursday announced a 33.3% jump in its China sales in May.

The Japanese carmaker said it sold 29,812 units in May, up from 22,364 units a year earlier. Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co Ltd, the company??™s 50:50 joint venture in China with Guangzhou Automobile Group, sold 20,266 vehicles in the month, up 6% year-over-year. Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co, the second joint venture that Honda Motor has in China, sold 9,546 vehicles in May, almost three times the 3,238 units sold in the same period a year earlier.
