MONTREAL, Quebec -- Tom Nastasi and Terry Borcheller scored a debut Rolex Sports Car Series GT class podium appearance for the No. 15 Blackforest Motorsports USG Sheetrock/Guardian Insurance Ford Mustang Cobra GT at the Circuit Gilles Villenueve with a third place finish in Montreal on Friday evening.

Nastasi put his previous Formula Atlantic experience on the track to use to qualify 6th on the thirty-six car grid and moved up into the top five, running as high as second before turning the car over to Borcheller midway through the race. Borcheller kept the distinctive black Mustang in contention through multiple restarts, and was well-placed on the final lap to move up from fifth to third moving out of the track??™s final hairpin corner. The result is the best of the season for the new GT class entry, improving on the previous best finish of fourth at Mid-Ohio with Nastasi and Ian James.

???We are in a teething process right now with the car,??? Borcheller said. ???We are ecstatic with a podium right now. The crew did a great job with the repairs on the car right before the race. The crew used a soda can to fix the pulley on the alternator, which held for the entire race. It was definitely an exciting race.???

Nastasi, who won the who opened the KONI Challenge Series season with three wins in a Mustang FR500C, relished the Montreal podium appearance with the first year Crawford-chassis GT class entry.

???Third place feels like a win for us,??? said Nastasi. ???The car isn??™t there yet, but its getting there. I??™ve raced here before in Atlantics, and I just wanted to get on the podium. I had a good co-driver and everything stayed together on the car, so this feels good.???

Blackforest Motorsports will be back in KONI Challenge action in two weeks??™ time at the Grand Prix du Trois Rivieres on the weekend of August 17-19.
