Arrow Brideshead Revisited In Ford's Versatile Ranger

Brideshead Revisited in Ford's versatile Ranger

Ford 's Ranger pick-up took centre stage at the filming of Brideshead Revisited on Yorkshire's Castle Howard Estate.

When the film crew and technicians needed a practical, comfortable workhorse, the new Ford Ranger needed no audition. Ford was contacted by the BBC and provided two Rangers to transport people and equipment between locations on the estate. The Double Cab models provided allow driver and four passengers to travel in comfort.

The film Brideshead Revisited, based on the novel by Evelyn Waugh and starring Sir Michael Gambon and Emma Thomas, is due to be released next year. Castle Howard was used as the backdrop for the 1981 television series Brideshead Revisited, and is the seat of the Honourable Simon Howard. The house was built in 1699, designed by John Vanbrugh, and took 100 years to complete.

"We were approached to help with the shoot and we couldn't turn it down. For us to be associated with the Brideshead Revisited film has been a fantastic experience," said Nigel Little, commercial vehicle sales manager at dealership Polar Ford York.

The Ranger boasts Regular, Super and Double Cab models with both two- and four-wheel-drive options. It is a true off-roader with a class-leading load box capacity. Ranger is capable of carrying a one tonne payload and has a substantial three-tonne towing capacity - enough to tow comfortably a double horsebox, small boat or motorcycle.
