Arrow FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES ITS 8TH ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Ford Motor Company continues its commitment to being transparent in the reporting of the company's progress on social, economic and environmental performance by releasing its 2006/2007 Sustainability Report. The report provides insight into both challenges and successes.

Ford first issued a Corporate Citizenship Report in 1999 to address the company's initiatives regarding social, economic and environmental concerns. As industry, business environment and social expectations continue to evolve, so does the report. In 2004, it was renamed the Sustainability Report to better reflect its emphasis on the business case for its approach to environmental and social issues. The printed report is tightly focused on the company's key issues, as well as on Ford's overall vision, strategy, challenges and opportunities, while the full report with more detailed explanation can be found on the Web ( www.ford.com/go/sustainability ).

"At Ford, we define sustainability as a business model that creates value consistent with the long-term preservation and enhancement of environmental, social and financial capital," said Sue Cischke, senior vice president, Sustainability, Environmental and Safety Engineering. "A sustainable strategy leads to better management of environmental resources and social capital ??“ along with economic capital ??“ to create a stronger, more profitable business. In this report, we have stated not only our sustainability accomplishments, but our challenges as well."

To advise on the report's thoroughness and transparency, Ford worked with a CERES stakeholder team. The CERES stakeholder team is an independent group of individuals drawn primarily from the CERES coalition and represents a range of constituencies that have expertise in environmental, social and governance issues. The report is aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines released in October 2006 ( www.globalreporting.org ).

"Ford's reporting has benefited greatly from open and honest dialogue with shareholders, environmentalists and other key stakeholders on sustainability issues such as global climate change," said Debra Hall, chief operating officer at CERES and convener of the CERES stakeholder team that advised Ford on their sustainability report. CERES is a coalition of investors, environmental groups and other public interest organizations working with companies on sustainable business practices.

The report focuses on the key issues of Climate Change, Mobility, Vehicle Safety, Human Rights and Sustaining Ford. Commentary from several internal and external experts can be found throughout the pages offering outside perspectives on specific issues.

Ford's Sustainability Report lays out Ford's vision for sustainability and the business case for pursuing a sustainable agenda. Through sustainability driven innovation, the company intends to strengthen return on capital by developing products, services and technologies that will anticipate the wants, needs and expectations of the 21st-century customers around the world. The report includes letters from the company's President and CEO Alan Mulally, Executive Chairman Bill Ford and new Senior VP of Sustainability, Environmental and Safety Engineering, Sue Cischke, all reflecting a commitment to integrate sustainability issues into Ford's operations.

Ford's full Web report can be viewed at www.ford.com/go/sustainability . The Web version provides additional data and information on social, environmental and economic management and performance.

"We're proud of the progress we've made, but mindful of the work left to do," said Cischke.
