Available in front or all-wheel drive platforms, the Avenger is being produced in four trims SE, SXT, R/T and R/T AWD.

In producing a model that will appeal to a broad spectrum of consumers (and budgets), three engines are available on the Avenger.

The standard powerplant for SE and SXT trim lines is a 2.4-liter dual overhead cam I-4 that produces 173 horsepower and 166 lb.-ft. torque. It is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with adaptive electronic control. Using regular unleaded gasoline, it has a 2008 EPA fuel economy rating of 21 mpg city, 30 mpg highway using the new rating standards.
