2007 LA Auto Show: Chevrolet Rolls Out 2009 Aveo5

As part of its ??Fuel Solutions?? initiative, Chevrolet unveiled a facelifted 2009 version of its subcompact Aveo5. Regular WINDING ROAD readers will recall that this is in fact the U.S. debut of the re-schnozzed Aveo that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Lurking behind the Aveo??s prominent family grille is a new variable-valve-timing ??equipped 1.6-liter Ecotec four, and the interior has been given a once-over as well. General Motors expects for the Aveo5 to be the least expensive car sold in the U.S., while returning fuel economy figures of 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

New interior features include standard OnStar, available XM satellite radio, and a number of new interior finishes, including wood grain, satin-chrome, and carbon-fiber look materials.

Expect to see the Aveo5 in dealers mid next year.
