BMW's New M3 Sedan
 

BMW has just announced that a four-door version of their M3 sportscar will be available. Performance minded drivers looking for the same hardware as the coupe, but with the added roominess and easy rear-seat access of a sedan, are going to be pleased.

The Audi RS4 had better watch its back- because with BMW's new four-litre, 420 horsepower V8 on board, the M3 is going to be a seriously potent performer. Creating maximum torque at 3,900 RPM, the mill spins to well over 8000 revs, and BMW says power is delivered smoothly throughout the entire operating speed range. This enables performance numbers like 0-100km/h in under 5 seconds, and an electronically limited 155 mph top speed.

M3 sedan wears the same fascia as the M3 coupe, while the sides carry typical 'gills', and the rear air dam features a unique, model specific design. Xenon lighting in front is designed to enhance safety and visibility, while the dual exhaust in back combine with flared wheel arches to suggest a sense of power and performance. BMW says it's all intended to convey a simple elegance.

Safety for five is covered off by six airbags, three-point belts on all seats, and of course a standard slew of electronic safety features designed to keep an eye on over-enthusiastic drivers. More details on the M3 sedan will be available closer to its Canadian launch date.
