Alfardan Automobiles unveils high-tech BMW X5 model

DOHA: After the success of BMW X5 4.8i since its launch earlier this year, Alfardan Automobiles has introduced BMW X5 3.0si in Qatar. The new model offers the same high levels of comfort, elegance and safety provided by its bigger, more powerful cousin that has been so well received, the company said.

Powered by a 6-cylinder in-line 3.0 litre engine, the car generates 273 horsepower and 232 lb of torque, and is capable of accelerating from zero to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds, according to the company statement. The high-tech engine is among the lightest in its class and tops out at an electronically limited 225km/h.

The X5 3.0si combines advanced engineering with innovative technologies such as xDrive and adaptive drive to offer precision-steering and agility.

???The X5 3.0si might classify as an SAV, but it has a low centre of gravity and handles like a sports saloon. The in-built technology maintains maximum traction and stability to ensure that the driver is in complete control of the vehicle at all times,??? Naim Majdalani, BMW Group director of sales and marketing at Alfardan Automobiles.

???The cabin of the car is everything you would expect from a BMW. Finished with leather upholstery and fine wood trim, the X5 3.0si is as luxurious on the inside as it is elegant on the outside. The instrument panel is intuitive and ergonomically designed to assist the driver. The iDrive concept gives the driver one-touch control over navigation, air-conditioning, entertainment and communication functions through a central control panel.

The driver can personalise the control panel to access favourite radio stations and phone numbers at the touch of a button, he added.

BMW has placed paramount importance on safety with the X5 3.0si. ???The passenger cell is exceptionally strong, constructed using high-strength multi-phased steel. Passengers are protected by a co-ordinated restraint system of three-point seatbelts and ten airbags. Reinforced doors and designated crumple zones have been developed through extensive crash-testing at BMW,??? Majdalani said.

The BMW X5 3.0si comes with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty and a three-year/60,000km BMW Service inclusive maintenance package. The package may be extended to 5 years/100,000 km.
