FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG plans to bundle all production of its Polo model in Pamplona, Spain and Brussels from spring 2008 and shut down production of the car in Bratislava, Slovakia, management board member Jochem Heizmann told Auto Motor und Sport magazine.

The decision is pending approval by the supervisory board, Heizmann said.

The move will help cut the costs of producing the compact Polo model, he said, and declined to comment on whether the company will in exchange add production of another model in Bratislava.
